This is my take on the saying "make love, not war."
I remember when I was little, I had heard that if you put salt on a snail, it will bubble and dissolve. Being the curious devil that I was, I had to see if it was true... so I went and found one of the many snails in our backyard (this was when we were living in Ghana), grabbed some table salt from the kitchen and watched, as sure enough, the snail started to foam up and melt before my eyes. I instantly knew I had done something very, very bad. I still remember the guilt I felt, and how I was ashamed to tell anyone about what I had done. It's actually quite telling that the memory of this event has stuck with me all these years. I will never, ever do anything like that again.
