As a part of my 101 list, I finally watched the Academy Award-winning documentary, 'Taxi to the Dark Side.' I was just... horrified. Ofcourse, everyone already knows about what happened at Abu Ghraib and GTMO, but this documentary gets you to really think about torture, war crimes, and justice. Watching it made me so angry; angry at the Bush administration (what's new), frustrated at the lack of progress in this world, and just feeling... hopeless. It makes me seriously think twice about having future kids and bringing them into a world where things like this happen. I was so disgusted, I felt like throwing up while eating a snack.
I hate to write such a depressing blog entry, but really, what is going on with the world? Don't we ever learn from history? Will there ever be world peace? *sigh*
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind...
{ Blowin in the Wind }
How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
